Kyle: Inspiration for a Valentine’s Date Night In

Mon, January 15, 2018

And just like that, the holidays are over. Christmas decorations are all packed up, our New Year’s resolutions haven’t quite faded yet, and we are on to the next sweet-filled holiday. Valentine’s Day isn’t a huge deal in our house, but I like to use it as an excuse to put a little extra effort into doing something different. Just as a way to take the time to celebrate the day. With the last few months of my life being so hectic – traveling all the time and being immersed in work majority of the day – I’m dreaming of a quiet night at home with Warren.

When Warren and I have a date night in, we like to get in the kitchen together and try new recipes. Most of the time it’s something I’ve wanted to try and haven’t had the time. Let’s be honest, some nights it is a small miracle to have a home-cooked meal. I love spending time in the kitchen and experimenting with new recipes. Luckily, I don’t have a picky eater on my hands, and we’re able to get adventurous.

With that being said, this year Warren and I are planning to whip up something new at home, cozy up on the couch, light a fire, and watch a movie. {It has actually been pretty cold in Tallahassee this year. Hello, snow! That hasn’t happened in as long as I can remember.} Who knows, we may even pop a bottle of champagne for good measure!

Warren and I are still newlyweds (2 years counts, right?) and are figuring out what traditions we want for our family. I’d love to hear what some of your favorite Valentine’s Day traditions are! Share in the comments below.
