Road Map to Market :: Vegas

Sun, July 27, 2014

Like Disneyland for adults, the glitz and glitter of Las Vegas can be overwhelming, but our team is up to the challenge! Get ready… We’re about to place out bets. Here’s to a “full house” at market! We plan to be holding the “high card” at the end of our adventure.

World Market Center
495 South Grand Central Parkway
Las Vegas, NV 89106

If Vegas is known for it’s massive approach to all things entertaining, the same can be said about the Las Vegas market in downtown. At a whopping 5 million square feet, it’s the largest showroom in the world for the home and hospitality industry and a hub for buyers in the West {and worldwide}. It’s also home to our newest showroom. Hello, year 2!

You really must: Take advantage of your evening hours to see the sights. We can help you there.
May we suggest: Blocking out a few days to see it all. With three buildings and over 1500 exhibitors, you’ll need a plan and a good pair of shoes.

3570 South Las Vegas Boulevard
Las Vegas, NV 89109

Located in Caesars Palace, Bobby Flay’s Mesa Grill restaurant is packed with iconic southwestern flavors creatively combined with Bobby’s enthusiasm and “flare” for all things grilled. The invigorating vibe and striking casino setting typify Vegas, but the remarkable food and expansive drink list are what keep our team coming back.

You really must: Try the cactus pear margarita. This cheek-puckering sweet and salty elixir is truly inspired! Don’t let the fuchsia color fool you. It’s life changing.
May we suggest: The blue corn pancake with barbequed duck or the tiger shrimp tamale. Both are a flavor explosion in your mouth. Literally… We can’t decide which is better.

SIDE NOTE: Great place for a pre-show dinner before seeing Celine… Both are at Ceasars! The dynamic duo is a bona fide powerhouse.

Golden Nugget Hotel
129 Fremont Street
Las Vegas, NV 89101

Located in the heart of downtown Vegas at the Golden Nugget Hotel, Gold Diggers is a true Glitter Gulch night club. It’s also a fun stop between casino hops for drinks and dancing since the DJ is spinning until close. Be prepared… The age range and attire is diverse, but then so is Vegas! We just love that everyone {including us} is having fun.

You really must: Get a table on the deck overlooking Fremont Street. You’ll witness the revelry of Vegas all while enjoying drink.
May we suggest: Not showing up on a Monday or Tuesday. They don’t open until Wednesday at 9pm.

The Colosseum at Caesars can hardly contain the larger-than-life voice of Celine Dion. Already one of the most popular shows in Vegas, the spectacle features 31 musicians including a full orchestra, custom designed sets, elegant couture gowns, and of course, the incredible vocals of Celine herself. The five-time Grammy Award winner and two-time Academy Award is on fire performing her hits, new material and timeless classics. We won’t be missing it.

You really must: See Celine. Even if she’s not a favorite, the show will be.
May we suggest: Seeing Brit Brit {AKA Britney Spears}. We’re bummed to be missing her “Piece of Me” show by only 3 short days. Let’s just say her hits don’t miss!

Anywhere in Vegas…

Though we never know exactly when to hold ‘em vs. when to fold ‘em, we love that you don’t need to be a card shark to play the black jack tables in Vegas. Technically, the goal is easy. Your hand just needs to be higher than the dealer’s without going over 21. Easy, right? But strategy aside, it’s the bets that keeps us coming back. When the free drinks are rolling and the company is encouraging, it’s hard not to get caught up in the thrill of the game. The enthralling combination of strategy and luck is hard to beat.

You really must: Check the minimum at the table before playing. Forget, and you run the risk of losing a lot of money – FAST.
May we suggest: A budget. It’s easy to get carried away with the next flick of the card. Set an amount that’s actually expendable so you won’t brood if you lose it. Chances are, you will.

Our summer road trips may be ending, but our fall is packed with more adventures! Check back often so you’ll never miss a mile!
