Laura On: What’s On My Calendar This Month
My calendar is filled with many celebrations this month, which has truly made June fly by so far. Sara Kate and Kyle spent the first week of June in France while I was living vicariously through them. They attended a photography workshop hosted by the lovely Mimi and Oddur Thorisson, and since Paris is always a good idea and they were already half way across the world, they decided to spend a few days in the City of Light. The workshop was my gift to the girls for their tireless work and dedication to all things Coton Colors over the years. Sara Kate is our in-house photographer, and on top of Kyle’s duties as Lead Designer, she styles every shoot. The timing worked out perfectly, and Kyle was able to celebrate her 27th birthday in Paris. It was a birthday I’m sure she is not likely to forget!
Kyle isn’t the only one with a birthday this month. Parks, my niece’s son, is having his first birthday. This little guy has brought so much joy for our family in one short year and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate him than a weekend at the beach. In our family, the women outnumber the men, but between Parks’ birthday and Father’s day, this beach weekend will be all about the guys.
The following weekend, we are heading to Atlanta to witness the baptism of Collins, my second niece’s little girl. With them living out of town, I savor any chance I get to spend time with this tiny bundle of joy.
So many wonderful celebrations this month…I’m feeling very lucky.
