Laura On: What’s on My Calendar this Month December

Sat, December 9, 2017

The last month of 2017 has officially begun. This advent season I can’t help but look back on 2017 as a whole and see all of the many blessings we have. We have our health, faith, and families. We have an exciting new adventure in our Atlanta Flagship store. We have a great team and many wonderful partnerships at Coton Colors. Life can get crazy at times, but it is full of celebrations.

I’m wrapping up a week of travel – Memphis for the St. Jude Marathon Expo, Atlanta setting up the store, Jacksonville for a Dillard’s signing event – and will settle in to the holiday season at home. This is Milton’s favorite time of year, and he loves to entertain at our house as much as I do. Our traditional Christmas day starts with brunch at the house and ends with dinner that evening for our entire family and friends. If it were up to Milton we would also host Christmas Eve festivities, but I keep reminding him to let others host as well.

With my travel schedule, my Christmas shopping thus far has been limited to a few online purchases. I always want the gifts I give to mean something. There are times when it begins to feel like we are just checking things off the list, instead of really thinking about the person we are giving to. It can be difficult, as you are probably familiar with also, to find the perfect gift. Luckily I tend to have my most creative thinking when I’m down to the wire. I find these are the most special gifts and don’t have to be lavish, they just have to mean something.

We are celebrating our 20 {and one half} year in business. Some of you will remember even longer ago than that, when we were making cotton dresses. Your support, starting locally in Tallahassee and now all over the US, has made us what we are today. I hope family and friends surround each of you this holiday.

Cheers to a wonderful Christmas season!
