Consistently challenging ourselves to find and tackle bigger and better ideas.
- a Coton Colors Core Value

Over these past couple weeks I have enjoyed watching the media coverage surrounding the 50th anniversary of the historical and incredible moon landing, especially all of the personal storytelling told from those who experienced this brilliant accomplishment. How amazing is it to have set such an incredible goal and achieve it! The vision and leadership and downright hard work it took from an extraordinary team to achieve this unthinkable goal is truly a feat. It leaves me awestruck and inspired every time.

When the original saying "Shoot the Moon Goal" was born, it was justly named. And one that we were inspired to adopt many years ago as one of Coton Colors Core Values. A core value is defined as the fundamental beliefs of a person or organization.

Now, don't misunderstand me, I don't compare what Coton Colors does to the accomplishments of a moon shot, however, I do find the statement to be the common mindset of the people who have been involved with our business. It is a non-negotiable.

Dreaming big is scary, working on a large goal is tough, it'll drive you simply crazy at times, it'll keep you up at night, it'll make you tired, exhausted, it'll make you want to quit, it'll make you doubt yourself. But it also makes you excited, interested, inspired, gives you energy, helps you learn, makes you smart, and it is simply just fun.

I have experienced every emotion known to man through the journey of growing an entrepreneurial business. But every emotion, both good and bad, are well worth it as the journey toward a Shoot the Moon Goal is an experience that brings people together.

I encourage all to consider the question what is your Shoot the Moon Goal? And mind you, this goal doesn't have to stand for something as large as landing on the moon, it can be traveling somewhere you've longed to go or simply building a garden.

Now it's your turn, try it. I hope it's as magical for you as it has become for me.
