Laura on: Saturdays with Milton

Tue, June 9, 2015

My schedule can get pretty hectic. A lot of weekends are spent on the road, so when I have a Saturday at home, I make it a point to unplug, mentally recharge and spend time with family. It’s these times, being with those I love most, that refuels me and inspires me. A few weekends ago, Milton and I wanted to take advantage of the gorgeous weather and an afternoon with no plans so we decided to head to the lake near our house to relax and enjoy the fresh air. He could fish, and I could read. So I packed a picnic basket with all of the fixings for our own little happy hour at the lake. I packed a colorful blanket, some of our favorite cheeses, a couple brews and a bottle of wine. And who says you can’t do a stylish happy hour at the lake? I packed one of my favorite tapas trays, cheese knobs, and a canister to chill the wine. While packing up my goods to bring with us, Milton gave me a playful eye roll but he loved every minute of our dressed up picnic.

We had the best time. An afternoon at the lake is just what the doctor ordered. PS: How cool is this truck? It’s owner is a friend of the family, and they are so kind to let us take it for a spin whenever we get the itch.

How do you guys like to spend a Saturday afternoon with nothing on the agenda?
