Laura On: My Favorite Recipe Learned in Thailand.

A few years back I attended a cooking school during a trip to Chaing Mai, Thailand. There they taught us how to make this delicious and traditional soup. The cooking school was set in an open-air kitchen, situated on top of a hill surrounded by endless rice paddies. Such a beautiful backdrop for the evening.

The original recipe we used had ingredients that are hard to find here in the U.S., but this soup I discovered from Bon Appetit is a great substitute.


I wouldn’t attempt to tackle this for a weeknight meal; rather I’d do this when I had more time, such as a Saturday afternoon. That is when I am most happy to explore more challenging recipes.

Believe me, I always enjoy quick to fix meals that end up delicious, but I do like to challenge and stretch myself a bit at times.
