Laura on: Attached to a Cause

Sun, February 1, 2015

Art with Heart is a program very dear to me that we started a few years back as part of our Attached to a Cause concept. As you all know, art is my passion. I also love children and seeing them happy fills my heart with joy. In the spring of 2012, I was invited by St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital to participate in their art therapy program with their children. Spending the day hosting an art workshop with those sweet kids changed my life. Seeing firsthand the positive and uplifting effects that art expression had on their spirits and overall health is something I will never forget. From that day forward I was committed to bringing art therapy to children who need a little extra happy in their lives.

Next month I’ll be traveling to pediatric hospitals across the country hosting our annual Art with Heart workshops, and to say I’m excited would be an understatement. I wish I could take all of you with me. Yes, it’s apparent by the children’s faces that we are bringing them a little happy, but what those kids don’t know is what they have done for me. They bring me so much joy.

No, packing you in my suit case and bringing all of you along sadly can’t happen, but there is a way that you can be involved in our Art with Heart cause. We’ve created the Color Me Happy Coloring Book, which is currently available for purchase on our website, and the Fold Me Happy Origami Book, which will be available soon for purchase on our website. We’ve also created Art with Heart Gallery Attachments in {BIG} and {MINI} sizes, so your child’s artistic expressions now have a happy place to be easily displayed. A portion of the proceeds from our limited edition gallery attachments and our coloring and origami books benefit children’s art therapy programs across the nation. Additionally, we will donate one coloring book or origami book for every one sold.

I encourage you to make a contribution to this great cause benefitting children who are needing a little more happy in their lives. And be sure to check back in to read more about our Art with Heart events in the coming weeks!
