Kyle on: Thai Fusion Birthday
My mom totally outdid herself when hosting my surprise birthday dinner last week. The theme was Indian/Thai fusion which called for a bright color palette and a delicious spread. From the floral arrangements and decor (the elephants were my favorite) to seeing all the friendly faces, it was the most perfect night with some of my favorite people. My mom had some pretty fantastic surprises up her sleeve for the night ahead. She hired a phenomenal chef who taught us how to make some amazing thai dishes. Everything we made was delicious, but my absolute favorite was a dish called Rogan Josh. The depth of flavor was unreal. My dad, who’s typically a meat and potatoes guy, was even able to look past the whole cloves and cardamom pods that the recipe called for, and he scarfed this dish down. My family LOVES to cook, and I can’t wait to recreate everything that was on the menu - like tomorrow. Everything was that good, y’all.
My mom also gifted me with a gift that will keep on giving for…well forever really. She has scheduled for me to take private floral arrangement classes with one of our favorite and wonderfully talented florists here in town. How great of an idea is that?? I’m so excited. I’m going to be on an antiquing spree leading up to my classes in an effort to find super unique and fun vases to display my talents in! My sister snapped some great shots of the birthday dinner so scroll away! And are any of you as big of fans of thai food as I am? I’d love to hear about your favorite recipe, if so!
