How To Pack The Perfect Picnic Basket

Fri, April 21, 2017

‘Tis the season to take your celebrations outside and throw a fresh air fête! Packing the perfect picnic basket is no longer a challenge with these four steps.

Step 1: Lay out the necessities to ensure you don’t forget anything. You should always include:

  • Blankets
  • Pillows
  • Snacks {popcorn and cheeses are our favorite for a picnic}
  • Drinks {way we suggest a glass of rosé from Winc?}
  • Your favorite serveware pieces
  • Lots of napkins and trash bags
  • A great book {see what Laura has been reading here}

Step 2: A fresh air fête wouldn’t be complete without colorful serveware {and a great glass of wine}. Start by packing your smaller items inside larger ones to save space in your basket. Then wrap your breakables in blankets to ensure safe arrival at your outdoor celebration.

Step 3: Pack all food in leakproof containers. No one wants to clean up spilled food or waste a delicious treat. Leakproof containers are key for effortless transportation to a picnic. The Johnson family swears by these from webstaurant.com {hint- search for plastic deli container with lid, or click here}. Make sure to pack your perishables in a cooler - you’re going to need lots of ice on a warm spring day!

Step 4: Start by placing your heaviest items on the bottom and finish with the lightest pieces on top.
