Flip Flop Love

Mon, July 26, 2010

Who doesn’t love flip flops? I know I do. Luckily I live in Florida and I can wear flip flops almost every month of the year! With that said, I have to keep my toes in tip-top shape to show them off in my favorite flops.

Weekly pedicures can kill a girls budget, so why not do it yourself and invite a few girlfriends to get in on the action?!? Host a flip flop pedi party and you can save money while you socialize!! Make your own flip flop themed invites to get the word out using craft paper, ribbons and embellishments. Get the easy how-to instructions here. You can supply the snacks, just ask your friends to bring their favorite flip flops and a polish color to share.

Once your girls get there, the fun can begin. All you need to do is create a few stations for foot baths, then take turns painting each others footsies! We all know that sharing toe tools is a no-no, so grab these cute mani/pedi sets in flip flop cases. They’re only $6 a piece and are such a fun and functional hostess gift!!

Now for the food. If you host it in the evening, you could simply serve a yummy dessert. In keeping with the theme, cook up one of these ‘sandal sweets’. You’re guests are sure to get a kick out of them!!

For more info click here… from left to right, there’s the flip flop cakeflip flop cookies and flip flop cupcakes.

Serve your treats on our colorful flip-flop ruffle plates, they’re perfect for summer entertaining of any kind. You will find yourself using these plates over and over again, from pool parties to beach get togethers, flip flops are a universal symbol of summer! Also in our flip flop collection you’ll find flip flop ruffle bowls and coordinating serving pieces in pink and green polka dot. Each flip flop can be personalized with a name if you’d like to add that special touch to your party.

Still looking for that over the top element? Try these hilarious flip flop coasters for your cocktails!

You could simply serve wine, or go with the trendy and fitting Flor de Caña Flip Flip Punch. This festive floral drink is loaded with taste and panache, including refreshing grapefruit juice and chamomile-infused Flor de Caña.

Ingredients: 4 sugar cubes 3 ounces club soda 2 ounces chamomile infused Flor de Caña 1 ounce lemon juice 1-1/2 ounces grapefruit juice Ice

Directions: 1. Dissolve 4 sugar cubes in 1-ounce of club soda (this generally involves muddling to help the process). After sugar cubes are dissolved, add Flor de Caña, lemon juice, and grapefruit juice one at a time and stir as added

2. Add ice and stir the punch until it is chilled. Strain punch into a glass (or make extra and strain into a punch bowl). Top with 2 ounces club soda and garnish with grapefruit slices to serve.

*Chamomile infused Flor de Caña is made by adding 4 spoons of chamomile tea to one bottle of rum. Let the concoction sit for 1 hour and 45 minutes. Strain out the tea. Save the bottle for storage.

Let me not forget our 4 legged girlfriends!! Posy loves to have her nails painted and would be completely offended if she were left out of the fun. If your girlfriends bring their furry friends you could give them these poochy party favors from 3 Dirty Dawgz…

If your party is successful, you may want to start rotating hosting duties with all your sweet feet friends. That way, you can keep up with your friends and your feet on a bi-weekly basis!!

Ta ta twinkle toes!!
