Flavors of Fall :: Mull Over these Cider-ful Recipes
There’s something about wrapping your hands around a warm mug of cider and taking in the savory aroma of apples, cinnamon and spices that just gives you the feeling that fall has arrived. With the first touch of cool weather blowing in, we are so ready to snuggle up by the fire and enjoy a cozy cup and a great book. Something even more wonderful we’ve discovered this season, is that just by simply adding our Fill My Cup Caramel Apple Cider to many recipes, you can infuse that yummy spiced-apple flavor into fall favorites that can be enjoyed without a mug! C’mon fall, cider’s waiting!!
CARAMEL APPLE CIDER GLAZE
This glaze is perfect for any type of baked good but it’s particularly yummy on cake donuts. If you’re not up for making your own donuts, just grab a dozen from your local grocery, drizzle glaze over the top and you’ll look like a culinary queen!
2 cups powdered sugar
1 tablespoon Light Corn Syrup
Boil apple cider in a small saucepan until reduced in half, about 7 to 10 minutes. Place powdered sugar in medium bowl. Whisk in hot cider and corn syrup until smooth. Drizzle over donuts or any type of baked goodie.
APPLE CIDER GRAVY
This gravy is the perfect edition to any fall spread and is delicious on turkey, pork chops, tenderloins or any type of main dish. Save it for Thanksgiving or savor it at any everyday meal.
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups chicken or turkey stock
- 1/2 cup Coton Colors Fill My Cup Caramel Apple Cider
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Heat a saucepan over medium-high heat. Melt the butter then stir in the flour and cook until light brown, about 1 minute. Whisk in the stock and apple cider, and season with salt and freshly ground pepper. Continue whisking and cook until thickened, about 3 minutes.
2 oz. Fireball Whiskey
4 oz. hard apple cider
2 oz. Coton Colors apple cider
1 apple slice
Add whiskey, cinnamon sticks and both ciders in glass with ice and stir gently.
Top with apple slice and then sprinkle ground cinnamon atop.
