Book Signings Begin!!

Thu, November 3, 2011

Wow, we are having an incredible week so far!! After our HUGE launch party Tuesday night, Susie and I kicked off The Happy Everything Cookbook Signing tour on Wednesday with a local signing in our Tallahassee retail store. We saw old friends and made new friends and had a great time signing special messages on many, many cookbooks. The signing event started off with our ‘Tidings from a Christmas Kitchen’ demonstration where we shared our ideas for ‘wrapping up’ the holidays with gifts from your kitchen.  All recipes were from the cookbook and participants learned how to creatively package gifts with Coton Colors style. Thank you to all of you who participated and thank you Tallahassee!!

We had lots of fun with patterned paper, hole punches, custom labels, and ribbon!

Following the Demonstration, the Chamber hosted a ribbon cutting for the Cookbook Launch.

I especially loved the giant scissors the chamber brought to the ceremony!

We truly had a blast meeting all of you and signing books, our favorite message request was “Face the Stove”… how cute!! We also had some local media coverage of the event {see the camera in the left side of the image?}. Thanks ABC!!

As soon as the Tallahassee books were signed, Kristin {our National Sales Director}, Susie and I hit the road!!

That’s right, we’re coming to your city…

Our first stop was in Columbus, Ga for an afternoon signing in the most wonderful store, Traditions.

Debbie Martin hosted a great event and cooked up some great tastes from the cookbook.

We especially enjoyed the company of Debbie’s husband, Jimbo who made our visit extra delightful

and thanks go out to Debbie’s talented staff who fielded phone calls and helped customers!

{FYI, the Buttery Pound Cake with Nutella Swirl was a huge hit…yum!}

We pulled in and were greeted by a radio remote out front. {Yes, Susie and I were on the radio!  Yikes!}

Here we are with Dave from WCGQ…

Here are some fun memories we came away with….

  • Thank you to the sweet customer who cried {really} when telling her story of  how her handmade plate fell and broke into a million pieces. She called our great customer service team who {her words} quickly got a replacement made and shipped. {Yay team!}  Her husband walked in the door to find her “squalling” when she received it. She was so very touched {thus the tears} and delighted.  Great job team!
  • We even had a great visit from a group of friends who stopped by on their way back from an Atlanta visit on their way home to Eufala, AL just to get a copy of the cookbook!
  • Debbie’s great customer and a collector of Coton Colors was out of town for the event and called in her order crying “Just pick something… anything… I have to have it!” What a delight!

I am so, so appreciative of this wonderful store and our Columbus customers.

Thank you for the warm reception!

Next…off to New Orleans!  Hey, this is fun!
